We handcraft our cakes at our Kent Town cake shop, with a range of fresh cream cakes, customised cakes, signature cakes, gender reveal cakes, wedding cakes and more.

Ordering Your Cake

Our cakes are freshly made to order, so we recommend placing your order as early as possible.

Most standard cake orders require around 2–4 days' notice, depending on the cake and availability. Customised cakes, wedding cakes or more detailed designs may require additional preparation time.

For cakes available on our website, you can place your order directly online and select your preferred pickup or delivery option at checkout.

If you have a custom design in mind, please contact us before ordering so our team can confirm the design, size, flavour, date and availability.

Custom Cake Orders

Every customised cake is handmade individually.

If you provide us with a reference photo, we will use it as inspiration and create a cake as close as reasonably possible to the requested style. As each cake is handmade, small differences in colour, piping, decoration and placement are normal.

Fresh fruit, flowers and some decorative elements may also vary slightly depending on seasonal availability and supply.

Please select your required pickup date when placing your order and collect your cake during our opening hours.

When transporting your cake, we recommend placing the cake box on a flat surface inside an air-conditioned vehicle rather than on a seat. Avoid direct sunlight and keep the cake refrigerated as soon as possible after collection.

Adelaide Cake Delivery

Local cake delivery is available to selected Adelaide suburbs.

Our cakes are carefully packed before leaving J&D Cake Lab. Delivery availability and charges depend on the distance from our Kent Town store.

Current delivery guide:

• Within 5 km — $12
• 5–8 km — $20
• 8–10 km — $30
• 10–15 km — $35

For locations more than 15 km from our store, please contact us before ordering to check whether delivery can be arranged.

Our standard delivery window is generally Monday to Saturday, between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm.

Because cakes are delicate and delivery times can be affected by traffic and other deliveries, we recommend allowing some flexibility around the estimated arrival time.

Receiving Your Delivery

Please make sure someone is available at the delivery address to receive the cake.

If nobody is available when the driver arrives, the cake may need to be left in a suitable safe location or returned to J&D Cake Lab, depending on the circumstances.

If another delivery needs to be arranged, an additional delivery charge may apply.

We strongly recommend checking your phone on the day of delivery in case the driver or our team needs to contact you.

Cake Design & Ingredient Notice

Because our cakes are handmade, the final product may have small variations from the photos shown online.

Fruit size, colour, flowers, decorations and other ingredients may also vary depending on availability. These natural variations are part of a freshly handmade cake and do not affect the overall design or quality.

Allergies & Dietary Requirements

Our kitchen handles ingredients including dairy, wheat, eggs, nuts and soy, and products may contain or come into contact with allergens.

If you have an allergy or specific dietary requirement, please contact us before placing your order so we can discuss whether the requested cake is suitable.

We cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment.
